One Painting, Infinite Meanings
About Angie Suro
Angie Suro was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and now resides in North Texas. She started painting as a release to overcome the pain of the death of her father. She was inspired by her Aunt Carmina, who is an artist in Puerto Rico. She has always had a passion for strong color and a desire to incorporate them into her paintings. Having grown up by the ocean, she has always marveled about cloud and sky colors and shapes. “There is a wide variety of subject matter that intrigues me. Whether it is the still life of fruit or a particular landscape or abstract , I try capture in my paintings a juxtaposition of light and dark that is often seen in classic works of art. I want the viewer to see and feel that chiaroscuro quality as though they are sharing it with me.” Angie tries to participate in as many workshops as time permits, since she believes that diversity and exploration will ultimately lead her to establish her style. She also holds private workshops and teaches small classes at her studio in Lucas, TX. “I hope to someday have my work be included in several shows and be represented in galleries across the country." Angie's Art has been on display in art shows in Plano, Richardson & McKinney, Texas.
